MATERIAL 1
A bio-composite filler material developed from mycelium and invasive plant species. Compared to conventional foam, its slightly bulkier and requires encapsulation for structural integrity. This is the material behind our first prototype and is well-suited for buoyant applications such as floats and insulated containers.

WHAT WE THREW TOGETHER

INCOLUATE SUBSTRATE
We source our favored mushroom species and substrate from local mushroom producers and farms. We take their waste and incorporate it into our process, making a closed loop.

LET IT GROW
After sterilizing and rehydrating, we let the mycelium grow in a custom growth chamber under our optimal conditions. This process usually takes 5-7 days.

BAKE IT
Once its done growing we dry or 'bake' it to harden it and prevent mushrooms from fruiting. This usually takes 1-2 days, thats it.
