Mud Rat began as a love for surfing that turned into a mission to keep our oceans clean. We’ve merged those two passions to create a mycelium surfboard blank that ends the solid waste pollution cycle created by everyday surfboards. Every step of creating our blanks, from procuring the materials to riding their first waves—is done with the health of our oceans and shapers in mind. Technology
We’re growing our surfboard blanks out of mushroom mycelium! For our growing process, we’ve created a mold in which we grow and dry the mycelium to the desired specifications, and it is the perfect material to build environmentally safe and biodegradable surfboard blanks.
